COUNCIL SETS PUBLIC HEARING FOR 1986 SEALCOATING PROJECTS At the February 25, 1986 Council meeting, resolu- tions were adopted identifying streets to be sealcoated, project cost estimates and benefitted property owners. Vehicle park- ing on the street during these times will be tagged unless the owner/driver contacts either the City Hall or the police requesting the vehicle not to be tagg- ed for a special reason such as a seasonal driveway problem, fresh asphalt or cement in driveway or some other temporary situation. NUISANCE ORDINANCE As it gets warmer, the snow melts and reveals forgotten treasures in yards such as junk automobiles, car parts, old appliances and other rub- bish. Concerned neighbors will start calling City Hall regarding the removal of these items. Do yourself a favor and start your spring clean up by removing any junk autos, car parts, old appliances or other rubbish from your yard. The City Code allows for the open storage of one(1) unlicensed vehicle. However, open storage of junk cars, car parts, appliances and rubbish is not permitted (this applies to both residen- tial and commercial properties). Estimated Total Cost of Project $10,856.00 Estimated Total Assessment Per Unit $148.71 AIRPORT STUDY ON HOLD At the December 17, 1985 Council meeting, the Airport Commission was given authority to pursue Gateway North Industrial Airport's inclusion in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems. The cost of pursuing inclusion in the NPIAS is eligible for 80% reimbursement from the State. Inclusion in the NPIAS implies that Ramsey is an eligible and willing sponsor for municipal airport development but it does not prohibit Ramsey from backing away from the project at some other point in time. Inclusion in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems is required in order to be eligible for Federal funding in the event there is airport development. On that basis, any further study procedures and expen- ditures, like zoning considerations and environmen- tal impact studies, are being delayed until it is known whether or not Gateway has been accepted into the national plan.
