<br />PARKING ON CITY STREETS
<br />
<br />City ordinance prohibits parking on any city street
<br />between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. This
<br />ordinance is separate from the 'snowbird' ordinance
<br />and applied at all times during the year. Vehicle park-
<br />ing on the street during these times will be tagged
<br />unless the owner/driver contacts either the City Hall
<br />or the police requesting the vehicle not to be tagg-
<br />ed for a special reason such as a seasonal driveway
<br />problem, fresh asphalt or cement in driveway or
<br />some other temporary situation. This no-tage request
<br />must have a start and end date.

<br />As it gets warmer, the snow melts and reveals
<br />forgotten treasures in yards such as junk
<br />automobiles, car parts, old appliances and other rub-
<br />bish. Concerned neighbors will start calling City Hall
<br />regarding the removal of these items. Do yourself
<br />a favor and start your spring clean up by removing
<br />any junk autos, car parts, old appliances or other
<br />rubbish from your yard. The City Code allows for the
<br />open storage of one(1) unlicensed vehicle. However,
<br />open storage of junk cars, car parts, appliances and
<br />rubbish is not permitted (this applies to both residen-
<br />tial and commercial properties).

<br />AIRPORT STUDY ON HOLD
<br />
<br />At the December 17, 1985 Council meeting, the
<br />Airport Commission was given authority to pursue
<br />Gateway North Industrial Airport's inclusion in the
<br />National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems. The
<br />cost of pursuing inclusion in the NPIAS is eligible
<br />for 80% reimbursement from the State. Inclusion in
<br />the NPIAS implies that Ramsey is an eligible and
<br />willing sponsor for municipal airport development but
<br />it does not prohibit Ramsey from backing away from
<br />the project at some other point in time. Inclusion in
<br />the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems is
<br />required in order to be eligible for Federal funding
<br />in the event there is airport development. On that
<br />basis, any further study procedures and expen-
<br />ditures, like zoning considerations and environmen-
<br />tal impact studies, are being delayed until it is known
<br />whether or not Gateway has been accepted into the
<br />national plan.
