Association

I,

The, Andover Athletic Asso.
ciation provides athletic pro.
grams for girls and boys in the
Andover area. Like all Associ.
ations of this type, it still
takes people like yourself to
provide the energy and sup.
port needed for it to be suc-
cessful. If you have never
heard of this Association, we
apologize. Getting notices..
out to everyone in the city has
been. difficult. This newsletter
will be one source of future in.
formation.
The Association meets the
fourth Tuesday of every
month. at the Andover City
Hall (7:30 to 10:00 p.m.),
unless announced otherwise.
The next meetin,g is set for
March 26. Coaches, re}erees,
umpires, team sponsors, and
other volunteers are needed
from all parts of the city for
softball and soccer programs
scheduled for thiS summer.
Additional people are needed
to expand the basketball pro.
gram next fall. If you have
specific talents to share or
have a' great desire to help
continue youth programs in
our community, then the
Association needs you. No
experience is necessarv.
the testing is not only to
tain the best method possible
to clean.up the sites on a per.
are extremely technical and
are performed under the quali.
Andover
;Dog
Clinic

Do you know what the No.1
city complaint is? You'd think
it would be crime or street
maintenance but according to
a survey by the American
League of Cities, it is dogs
r'unning at large. Even though
you may know your dog, you
do not know how he will react
to a stranger. Each year there
are several dog bite cases
here in Andover.
The city also receives more.
than 30 calls a week dealing
with garbage tipped over,
shrubs destroyed, smaller
pets being' injured, ete'. If your
dog is running at large and im-
pounded, it could cost over.
$50 to get him back plus a fine
for being loose. There is an
additional fine if the dog is
not licensed.
ask for Gary Shay. If you know
nothing about soccer, no pro-
blem. A coaches clinic is
planned to provide you with
the necessary knowledge.
Basketball (next fall and
winter
Girls program, boys pro-
gram.
This past basketball season
was very successful.. The
Association wants to expand
the 'program next fall, so in-
terested people. are always
welcome. If you have basket-
ball questions, call 757-2640,
ask for Gary West.
City-Wide Garage Sale
The Andover Athletic
Association would' like to
stage a city.wide garage sale
this sprin'g or summer to raise
financial support. The athletic
association has many start-up
costs for sports equipment
and other necessary mater-
ials. This sale is another way
that residents of the area can
help. So watch for future an-
nouncements. If iOu ,o,Ou d
