<br />Spring Story time
<br />Don't let the snow and
<br />slush dampen your spirits.
<br />We're thinking spring during
<br />the spring story times at the
<br />Anoka Public Library. Chil-
<br />dren age 3V2 to 6, including
<br />children presently in kin-'
<br />dergarten, are invited to join
<br />in the fun.
<br />Six weekly story times will
<br />be held beginning March 26
<br />and continuing through May
<br />1. Sessions last approximate-
<br />ly 30 minutes. Registration
<br />begins Tuesday, March 19 for
<br />story times on Tuesdays at 11
<br />a.m. or Wednesdays at 1 :30
<br />p.m. To register, either call
<br />421-5800 or stop by the Anoka
<br />Public Library. .
<br />National Library Week
<br />The Anoka Public Library is
<br />celebrating A NATION OF
<br />READERS during the 1985 Na-
<br />tional Library Week, which is
<br />being held April 14-20, 1985.
<br />The annual event is
<br />celebrated nationally in an ef-
<br />fort to raise awareness of the
<br />importance of reading, books,
<br />and literacy. Won't you join us
<br />at the Anoka Public Library to
<br />make National Library Week
<br />1985 the biggest and best

<br />not available through the
<br />regular library budget, en-
<br />couraging community aware-
<br />ness of library services, and
<br />sponsoring special events.

<br />Anoka Public Library. The

<br />paperbacks, records, tapes,

<br />terms of the library's stated

<br />

<br />would you like to learn more
<br />by sharing your ideas with
<br />others? The Anoka Garden
<br />Club invites you to join them
<br />as they discover more about
<br />indoor and outdoor garden-
<br />ing.
<br />We meet once a month and
<br />cover a wide variety of topics
<br />on growing fruits, vegetables,
<br />trees and shrubs, African
<br />violets, orchids, wildflowers
<br />and iris to mention a few. We
<br />also take a number of short
<br />field trips to surrounding
<br />areas such as the Eloise
<br />Butler Wild Flower Garden in
<br />the spring and the Como Park
<br />Conservatory when there is a
<br />special show. In the fall, we
<br />plan to. have a pruning dem-
<br />onstration on fruit trees and
<br />shrubs. There is also a tour of
<br />
<br />';.
<br />
<br />the local gardens in the
<br />Anoka area which includes a
<br />garden that" has over 100
<br />varietes of iris, and another
<br />that features many perrenials
<br />and, finally, one that has
<br />shade loving plants and a rock
<br />garden. ,

<br />Summer Reading
<br />It's not too early to start
<br />th1nking about the Anoka
<br />Public Library's Summer
<br />Reading club for your child or
<br />children. This year your child
<br />will be invited to "Enter
<br />Worlds Beyond" as the sum-
<br />mer reading club gets under-
<br />way May 31. Watch for more
<br />information" during' the
<br />months to come, or stop by
<br />the library this spring. We'll
<br />be glad to tell you about the
<br />adventures that await you or
<br />your child this summer at the
