<br />. RAMSEY COMMUNIT_Y. SCHOOL f <br /> <br />FALL- PROGRAM <br />VNDERW AT <br /> <br />Two components have been added to the Community School <br />Program' this Fall. One of these new components is the Adult <br />Evening Class Program. A wide variety of course offerings are <br />avail able which include: Home Fire Prevention, Macrame <br />Workshop, Holiday Craft Workshop, City Government (How it <br />Works), You and the Law, Drug and Alcohol Awareness Program, <br />and You and Your Social Security Dollar. In addition to these <br />classes three open gym sessions will be a part of the Fall Schedule <br />at Ramsey. Monday nites will be set aside as Ladies Nite in the <br />gym, Volleyball, Ping Pong, Basketball or just plain jogging and <br />exerCiSing are the planned activities. Wednesday nites will be <br />designated Adult and Couples Volleyball. Thursday will be open <br />bas ketball for men. These sessions will run continuously <br />throughout the school year except on Holidays and during special <br />programs. All of these classes are offered in the evening between <br />7-9 p.m. Any. adult may register by calling the Community <br />School Office at 427.9350, check your brochure for dates, times <br />and fees. <br />The other new component is the local Advisory Council. The <br />newly formed group will assist the community school coordinator <br />in planning, organizing and evaluating programs and services in <br />the Ramsey area. In addition to these functions the Advisory <br />,Council will help plan and organize a number of special family <br />events throughout the school year. Anyone interested may help <br />this council by providing input at regular monthly meetings or <br />volunteering for special projects. More information regarding <br />Advisory Council matters will IJe printed on school flyers and <br />newsletters. <br />Along with these two new additions the Community School <br />Program will again include an extensive pre-school and youth <br />enrichment program. The program begins September 18th and <br />will run for 8 weeks. Youth programs being offered include <br />soccer and floor hockey for boys and girls, flag football for hoys, <br />gymnastics for girls, creative crafts, drama club, kids cooking and <br />much more. <br />Pre-School classes include rhythms and tumbling, song and <br />story time, cut, color and paste for pre-schoolers ages 3, 4, and 5 <br />years. <br />Details of both these programs are outlined in the Community <br />Education brochures. You may also obtain more information by <br />calling the Community School Office at 427-9350. <br /> <br />POOllNFORMA TlON <br /> <br />Once again the swimming pools at Fred Moore, Jackson, <br />Coon Rapids and Northdale Junior High Schools will be <br />open during the evening and on weekends for adult and <br />family recreational use. Swimming is a great way to relax <br />and get some~exercise during the cooler months. Families <br />are encouraged to take advantage of the fine facilities at <br />th ese pools. St. Anthony Gun Club <br /> <br />FAMILY FILM NITES SET <br /> <br />This fall three days have been set aside as Family Film Nites a1 <br />Ramsey. Full length Disney films will highlight these special <br />family events. I t will be a great chance to have some old <br />fashioned movie fun with popcorn for everyone. The dates will <br />be: <br />Saturday, October 28th . . . . .12 noon <br />Saturday, November 18th . . . .12 noon <br />Tuesday, December 12th . . . . .7 p.m. <br />Admission is 25 cents per person.
