<br />Public Notice <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Homeowner Education for <br />Septic Systems <br /> <br />Are you a homeowner? Do you have a septic <br />system? Are you interested in saving money? Would you <br />lil(e to protect your family's environment and the natural <br />environment? <br />Homeowners wanting to better understand oper- <br />ate and maintain their septic systems will want to attend a <br />Homeowner Education for Septic Systems program being <br />presented by the University of Minnesota Extension Ser- <br />vice. Hear about water saving ideas, find out if you should <br />be using additives, and get your questions answered. <br />This free two-hour program will be held Monday, <br />February 5, 2007 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Bunl(er Hills Ac- <br />tivities Center, 550 Bunker Lal(e Blvd NW, Andover, two <br />miles west of Highway 65 on Bunker Lake Boulevard. <br />Pre-register at least three days prior to class by <br />calling the University of Minnesota Extension Service, <br />Anoka County at 763-755-1280, or use online registration <br />at www.extension.umn.edu/county/anoka and clicl( on Hot <br />Topics in Anoka County. The <br />meeting will be held on December 7, <br />at 7:00 pm at the new Ramsey <br />Municipal Center in the <br />Alexander Ramsey Room. <br /> <br />General Election <br />Update <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />The General Election was held on November 7, <br />2006; all eight polling places were open - and busy! There <br />was a steady stream of people all day! The election judges <br />registered 1,248 new people, for a grand total of 13,633 <br />registered voters. The voter turnout totaled 9,087 which <br />equates to 66.65% of the registered voters. The aver- <br />age percentage of voter turnout Anoka County-wide was <br />66.93% and the average State-wide was approximately <br />60%. Ramsey's turnout was in line with those of the <br />County and State. <br />The seats up for our local election were Council- <br />member at large, Councilmember for Ward 1, and Council- <br />member for Ward 3. Matt Look won the at-large Council <br />seat with 50.85% of the votes. David Elvig, incumbent <br />won the seat for Ward 1 with 49.06% of the votes. John <br />Dehen won the seat for Ward 3 with 46.64% of the votes. <br />The new Council will tal(e their seats on January 2. <br />The phone numbers for the new members are as <br />follows: Matt Look - 612-558-9111; and John Dehen <br />- 763-323-3129.
