Community News

The Ramsey
Women of Today

The Ramsey Women of Today, a social and civic organization, has been
busy this fall. We held our second annual Bingo event at the Ramsey Happy
Days. We had a very successful event and we appreciate all of the support we
received from the community.
We would especially lil(e to thank the following business for their
Bingo prize donations:
EI Azteca, Ramsey Movie Gallery, Ramsey Subway, Ace Hardware, Total En-
tertainment, Fantastic Sams on 47, Serums, The Vineyard, Kitty's Glitter, Blatz
Oil Change, Salon Capari in Elk River, Curves in Ramsey, Elk River Ford,
McDonalds, Q Nails, Bill's Superette, Tanning Salons, and Super Bowl.
We also had another successful annual Halloween Carnival at Ramsey
Elementary School. The kids had fun with Halloween games, a dance, a cos-
tume contest and Chanticlear pizza. The adults had fun too with dancing and
drawings from the remainder of our Bingo prizes including a grand prize bowl-
ing party package from Super Bowl.
Thank you to all the people and businesses who have supported the
Ramsey Women of Today this fall in our fundraising activities to enable us to
donate to worthy causes.
For more information about the Women of Today, please join us for
our monthly meetings, the fourth Tuesday of each month, at our "new" Ramsey
Municipal Center (located on Sunwood Blvd. off ofHwy 10 between Ramsey
and Armstrong Boulevards) or call Dawn at 763-422-9351 or Laura at 763-753-
0936.
Our next meeting (and first in the new Municipal Center) will be Tues-
day, November 28 at 7: 15 pm in the Alexander Ramsey Room. We hope to see
you there for fun and friendship!

Ramsey Senior News

On October 4, 2006, the Ramsey Seniors met at Savannah Oaks for the
second time. They shared a wonderful pot-Iucl( lunch and played fruit bingo
which was provided for by Riverview Banks.
On November 1,2006, the Ramsey Seniors again met at Savannah
Oaks. After a wonderful pot-Iucl( lunch, Mike Smith will showed slides and
told about his trip to Africa. He's very good at this.
The December 6, meeting will once again be at Savannah Oaks. We
ask that all members bring a toy donation for Toys for Tots. Representatives
from Toys for Tots will pick-up our donation at 11 :45 am. Lyric Theater will be
putting on a 45 minute play for us starting at 1 :30 pm. We will also have plants
as door prizes to give away. Mary Guentzel will be at the door letting people in,
so please be on time.
I hope some of the new people who came in September and November
will be back. We have a fun club.
Zola Malamen, President Ramsey Seniors

~

Minnesota
Gardening
2007 Calendar
Now Available

I The Univer-
~\~~~ ~ sity of !"finnes~ta
~~ ExtensIon ServIce
and Minnesota
Agricultural Ex-
periment Station have released Min-
nesota Gardening 2007, a calendar
developed for home gardening and
landscape enthusiasts across the state.
Minnesota Gardening 2007 is the
only calendar designed and written
exclusively for Minnesota.
