eee Rafstaert
14100 ST. FRANCIS BLVD. N. W.
ANOKA, MINNESOTA 55303
427 -1410
January 30, 1975
- 4 -
The city of Ramsey has requested significant upgrading of the ground water
monitoring procedures in an effort to determine the extent to which both
the sludge disposal practices and the landfill operation are affecting the
ground water in the vicinity of the Anoka landfill site.
If it is found that either or both uses will accelerate the need for public
water supply and sewage collection systems, it is the position of the city
of Ramsey that the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission should be prepared
to respond to such a need in providing sanitary sewer service when needed
and to participate in the financing of the facilities to the extent to which
the Corrmission is liable.
A final basic concern of Ramsey in reviewing the overall Progress Report is
the implication that the entire system covered by the report is a single
project. The final report should include a breakdown of the individual
segments of the interceptor that would be included in any single project and
the proposed scheduling of each of the individual projects.
AC:dj
Very truly yours,
CI7'0 RAMSEY
Arnold Cox, Mayor
XII -32
