Now that we have estimated the land
demand based on Metropolitan Council's projections and the densities
established within the Future Land Use Plan we must look at available
developable land supply and determine if such projections can be
accommodated and if not, what level of development can be
accommodated. Table V -6 represents an inventory of vacant residential
lands based on the future land use plan and an estimated capacity based
on the previously made assumptions on density.

Table V -6 Available Land Inventory and Estimated Future Development Capacity

Land Use Net Average Density of Total Units
Developable future Development
Acres Units/Net Acre
Low Density 420 3.5 1,470
Residential
Urban/Rural 430 2 860
Transition Residential
Medium Density 69 6 414
High Density 94 15 1,410
Future Urban 1,013 4.1 4,154
Residential Totals
Future Permanent 3,200 .3 9620
Rural12 Totals
Total All Future 4,213 1.2 5,+-1-074
Lands

12 This includes both the Rural Preserve area (1200 acres of vacant or ag land at a density of I unit per 10
acres or 120 proiected units) and the Rural Developing area (2000 acres of vacant or ag land at 1 units per
2.5 acres or 800 units).
