To them,
generosity and comprehension were more fulfilling than
selfishness and a closed attitude.
That simple and profound concept -fully
consistent with the world's great religions - struck a
chord with more and more people as time went on. As
the decades passed, their members increased until Lions
Clubs International became the world's largets service
organization.
Today, more than 44,500 Lions Clubs and more
than 1.4 million men and women in 185 countries "do
something for someone else." In nearly every contury
where people can freely associate, Lions have built on
the idea of Melvin Hones to serve millions and millions
of those in need and to extend the ideals of liberty and
democracy.
The city of Ramsey has a local Lions Club that
was started in 1973 and has been quite active in our
community. As we ended our fiscal year on June 30th,
we have donated nearly $85,000 back into our
community. We meet on the 1St and 3'd Wednesdays, of
every month. Meetings are held at the Super Bowl at
7:30 p.m. If you are interested in becoming a member
or would like more information, please contact Bill Weiss
at 753 -6413.
