o Stop building low income housing. Some of the townhouses already built (all different colors in a row) will probably, in about 5 years look like ghetto housing. Keep the houses upscale. Encourage businesses for employment of Ramsey citizens. "Single family homes" too much effort is spent on crowding as many people as possible into confined spaces. o Affordable senior housing. o Get rid of cluster houses that call themselves detached townhomes. o Rental, higher density with walkable neighborhoods should be kept to the south southeast quarter of Ramsey, with more open wetlands in the north northwest part of Ramsey. Walking rails in the north northwest part would be nice. Numbers 1,2,6, and 8 above are important in the south southeast part of Ramsey only. The owner- rental mix might be better some where in the middle, like 85/15 or 80/20. o I am not racist, but more affordable housing for white people (with kids) that have a job, but are struggling to make the high monthly rent. o Affordable upscale middle class housing! o A need to maintain single-family dwellings with acreage - country living atmosphere! Tax affordable to home owner. o Hold all this housing. We need roads - top priority! o Leave us alone! No city water or sewer was a choice when we moved here. I don't want Ramsey to turn into Brooklyn Center. I moved here to get away from the city. o Senior one-level housing opportunities. o More senior housing. o Medium single family homes o No High density. There isn't an urgent need for housing -leave Ramsey the way it is and the reason most people moved here - large lots no downtown area. The only thing the Town Center & low income, high density concept will bring is higher taxes. Want more large lot single family homes. o Sidewalks to keep people off roads. Would like to see a YMCA or Ramsey Community Center (with daily pass advantages) with an indoor and outdoor pool and work out facility. Make Ramsey Allina Clinic bigger like the Coon Rapids Allina. Do something about the terrible traffic crossing 116 into Ramsey and Ferry Street to Ramsey. We need to get the bridge from Ramsey through Champlin (Dayton) built to cut down the traffic in Ramsey and Anoka Highway 10. Restaurants by the river or off river sure would be nice. would like to see some big trees planted off road side of long roads like County Road 5 and 47. County road 63 needs to be fixed like County Rd 64 was, but with sidewalks. When light rail comes in offer discounts for Ramsey residents. We need a middle school in Ramsey - long over due. More Baptist/Evangelical churches. A spot to fish from a bridge so families can picnic and fish. o More senior one floor plans not 2 story. o Construction of more one house per lot homes rather than townhomes. Townhome development is beginning to overwhelm the City of Ramsey. o Ramsey does not have adequate infrastructure to support additional housing at this time. Emphasis needs to be placed on the traffic problems that already exist before we add to them. o Reduce multiple family dwellings. Protect wetlands. 10
