margin thru increased density. Recalculate how many homes get built each year. We
have half built developments "Sunfish Lake". Focus on completing current projects.
o Having roads and infrastructure to support the people living in Ramsey. High density
housing is not desirable and a general negative.
oWe do not need any more development. Weare suddenly over populated with roads
that are terribly underdeveloped for the amount of traffic. There is also no street
lights - so even though there are lots of kids you can't see them walking in the streets
_ also sidewalks. Also, why not raise money to be able to hire more police officers to
try and control the multitude of drug dealers and user's in Ramsey.
o Slow down on development because the road access is being strained by too much
traffic, particularly on hwy 47.
o Affordable senior housing
o Bring in new retail! Address future school needs for growth that has occurred-
elementary, middle & high school! New parks near or in existing developments. Put
side walks into existing developments without them - to make them safer.
o Maintain attractive neighborhoods# (#8 also). I love that Ramsey feels so quiet &
safe. We recently moved here from a small town in WI, and feel great about our
decision to purchase a home in Ramsey! I believe Ramsey has great opportunity to
have both quiet neighborhoods and booming businesses. (P .S. our family really
enjoys the Ramsey walking trails!)
o No more townhomes, keep neighborhoods friendly and green.
o Address the traffic concerns created by more people living in Ramsey. Hwy 47 is a
nightmare because too many people now rely on one road to service them. Focus on
creating neighborhoods with parks & things that attract young families because that is
now who is moving to Ramsey.
o STOP building multiple housing units at this ridiculous high rate! Ramsey is a great
place to live, but hwy 47 is very congested. Definitely more parks should be in
neighborhoods. Our neighborhood (Barium/47) has no parks for any of our
neighborhood children. Flower gardens, too - Have Garden Clubs maintain. How
about a dog park in Ramsey - great example is 3 Rivers (Elm Creek Park). Keep
retail out of housing neighborhoods. Some good bike trails - keep them going and
maintained. Note: We lived in Burnsville for 5 years. They as a city would sell bare
root trees for a very reasonable price. I know Ramsey has a tree sale, but its not that
reasonable. All these new developments need greenscape.
o Trails and park systems throughout the city and connections to surrounding cities and
park systems (continuous trails/sidewalks not ones that end abruptly). Safer
transportation and access to major roadways/highways without traffic back-up.
o A balance of housing affordable options is most important. Middle ring suburbs that
have no growth opportunities yet have nice neighborhoods & communities and are
experiencing low turnover of properties. They have declining young families
therefore the schools start to shrink & neighborhoods start to deteriorate. Second, a
moderate growth rate is also important. Public services that are needed to support a
community need to grow along in a plan-ful manner. If it is too quick, things are
done poorly and not thought through.
o Improve Hwyl0, Sunfish and Hwy47 by the fairgrounds. Stop the rental housing and
work on keeping home owners. Make sidewalks from Sunfish & Bunker Lake Blvd.

7
