Vice Chair Johns mentioned the Horse Care Board would like to meet with the Park and Recreation Commission. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained residents are asking what the plan is for Traprock Park Riding Arena. There has not been substantial improvements and maintenance to the park. The Horse Care Board would like to jointly meet to decide what to do with the structures at this park. He suggested the Commission meet at Traprock with the Horse Care Board, and then move to the Fire Station for development considerations. Commissioner Shryock suggested each Commissioner visit Traprock prior to the May 2 meeting, and then hold the meeting at the Fire Station since the Commission will have other issues to discuss. It was decided to meet at the Fire Station for the May meeting. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated the City Council would like a joint meeting with the Park and Recreation Commission. He suggested the June meeting be the joint meeting, and be held at Central Park. The tour could be part of the meeting. Commissioner LaMere suggested the June meeting start earlier due to the tour. It was decided the June meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated he will check with Administrative Services to confirm the start time with the Councilmembers. Motion by Commissioner LaMere, seconded by Commissioner Rolf to invite and schedule a joint City Council meeting and tour during the month of June on June 13 at Central Park at 5:30 p.m. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Vice Chair Johns, Commissioners LaMere, Olds, Shryock, and Rolfe. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Cook, Commissioner Ostrum. The following dates and locations were decided: July meeting will be at River's Bend; August meeting will be at Elmcrest Park; September meeting will be held at Cottonwood; and the October meeting will tentatively be held at the Fire Station. Case #10 Canter Addition Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated this is essentially an administrative subdivision, or lot split. A new lot is being created, and there is no park in the area. He suggested the Park Dedication and Trail Fees be satisfied by cash payment.
