Musikgarten of Anoka offers <br />early childhood music and movement <br />classes for children birth to age eight and <br />their parents, grandparents or caregivers. <br />Classes are held throughout the year at <br />the First Congregational Church in down- <br />town Anoka. Call 763-576-6649 for more <br />information, or visit www.musikgarten. <br />org/anoka. <br /> <br />The photo history exhibit <br />entitled, "Picturing Anoka County: A <br />Snapshot of History" will be avail- <br />able to the public, without charge, <br />at destination sites throughout the <br />county. <br />This traveling exhibit is <br />derived from a larger effort entitled, <br />Picturing Anoka County: 150 Photos <br />for 150 Years, which is currently open <br />at the Anoka County History Center <br />and Library. The traveling exhibit <br />will visit each of the 21 cities and <br />townships in Anoka County through- <br />out 2007 and serve as a companion <br />to the larger exhibit at the History <br />Center. <br />"This classic exhibit will fea- <br />ture photographs from all around the <br />county, including some that are not <br />found in the recently published bool(, <br />Picturing Anoka County. It high- <br /> <br />Community News <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Home <br />Landscaping <br />and Garden Fair <br /> <br />The University of Minnesota Extension Service - Anoka County <br />Master Gardener Program will sponsor a Home Landscaping and Garden <br />Fair on Saturday, March 24,2007, from 8:00 am - 3:30 pm at the Bun- <br />ker Hills Activities Center, 550 Bunker Lake Blvd NW, Andover, MN. <br />There will be 21 classes and workshops, many vendors, and door prizes. <br />Classes/workshops include: Landscaping-Site Analysis and Plant Selec- <br />tion, Ornamental Grasses, Water Gardening, Salsa Gardening, Tree Top- <br />ics, Prairies and Wildflowers, Create a Living Wreath, and much more! <br />Registration is required (space is limited). Fee is $20 per per- <br />son ($25 wall(-in, if space permits.) A material fee will be added to the <br />optional Living Wreath, Stained Glass Stepping Stones and Beeswax <br />Candle Mal(ing classes. Please call 763-755-1280 for complete brochure <br />and registration form. <br /> <br />Traveling Photo <br />History Exhibit <br /> <br />lights the very best from among the <br />thousands of images available in the <br />ACHS collection," says Todd Mahon, <br />ACHS executive director. <br />The Snapshot exhibit will <br />feature one historical photograph <br />from each city and township in Anoka <br />County as well as a handful of ad- <br />ditional images of the community <br />that is hosting the exhibition. Two of <br />these exhibits will travel simultane- <br />ously, on a staggered schedule, to <br />assure that the exhibit will reach each <br />community for a three week stay. <br />The tentative schedule is as follows: <br /> <br />March 1-22 at the Columbia <br />Heights Public Library in Columbia <br />Heights <br />March 13 to April 5 at the <br />Senior Center in Linwood <br />May 15 to June 8 at Pine <br /> <br />River Bank in Burns <br />June 19 to July 6 at North- <br />town Mall in Blaine <br />July 16 to August 6 in Cen- <br />terville (location to be announced) <br />August 1-21 at the Banfill- <br />Locke Center for the Arts in Fridley <br />August 1 7 to September 7 at <br />City Hall in Hilltop <br />September 4-21 at the Sand- <br />hill Center for the Arts in Bethel <br />September 1 7 to October 5 at <br />the St Francis Branch of the Anoka <br />County Library <br /> <br />The more permanent exhibit, <br />150 Photos for 150 Years, will remain <br />open throughout the Sesquicentennial <br />year during regular ACHS History <br />Center hours.
