Discover the Joys of Music with Your Children! Early childhood music classes bring music into the home so that children and families may enjoy its great social, emotional, intellectual, and physical benefits. Musikgarten of Anoka offers early childhood music and movement classes for children birth to age eight and their parents, grandparents or caregivers. The photo history exhibit entitled, "Picturing Anoka County: A Snapshot of History" will be avail- able to the public, without charge, at destination sites throughout the county. This traveling exhibit is derived from a larger effort entitled, Picturing Anoka County: 150 Photos for 150 Years, which is currently open at the Anoka County History Center and Library. The traveling exhibit will visit each of the 21 cities and townships in Anoka County through- out 2007 and serve as a companion to the larger exhibit at the History Center. "This classic exhibit will fea- ture photographs from all around the county, including some that are not found in the recently published bool(, Picturing Anoka County. It high- Community News ~ Home Landscaping and Garden Fair The University of Minnesota Extension Service - Anoka County Master Gardener Program will sponsor a Home Landscaping and Garden Fair on Saturday, March 24,2007, from 8:00 am - 3:30 pm at the Bun- ker Hills Activities Center, 550 Bunker Lake Blvd NW, Andover, MN. There will be 21 classes and workshops, many vendors, and door prizes. Classes/workshops include: Landscaping-Site Analysis and Plant Selec- tion, Ornamental Grasses, Water Gardening, Salsa Gardening, Tree Top- ics, Prairies and Wildflowers, Create a Living Wreath, and much more! Registration is required (space is limited). Fee is $20 per per- son ($25 wall(-in, if space permits.) A material fee will be added to the optional Living Wreath, Stained Glass Stepping Stones and Beeswax Candle Mal(ing classes. Please call 763-755-1280 for complete brochure and registration form. Traveling Photo History Exhibit lights the very best from among the thousands of images available in the ACHS collection," says Todd Mahon, ACHS executive director. The Snapshot exhibit will feature one historical photograph from each city and township in Anoka County as well as a handful of ad- ditional images of the community that is hosting the exhibition. Two of these exhibits will travel simultane- ously, on a staggered schedule, to assure that the exhibit will reach each community for a three week stay. The tentative schedule is as follows: March 1-22 at the Columbia Heights Public Library in Columbia Heights March 13 to April 5 at the Senior Center in Linwood May 15 to June 8 at Pine River Bank in Burns June 19 to July 6 at North- town Mall in Blaine July 16 to August 6 in Cen- terville (location to be announced) August 1-21 at the Banfill- Locke Center for the Arts in Fridley August 1 7 to September 7 at City Hall in Hilltop September 4-21 at the Sand- hill Center for the Arts in Bethel September 1 7 to October 5 at the St Francis Branch of the Anoka County Library The more permanent exhibit, 150 Photos for 150 Years, will remain open throughout the Sesquicentennial year during regular ACHS History Center hours.
