Ramsey was ranked 23 in the Nation in our
population category. For more information on national
standings for NNO, see www.nno.org/nno.

Rental Licensing Program

In August 2003, the Ramsey City Council adopted a new Building Maintenance and Occupancy Code, including
a requirement for all rental units in the city to obtain a rental license. A rental license is required before property own-
ers may rent any dwelling units to the public, including single family homes, townhomes, and apartments. As part of the
Building Maintenance and Occupancy Code, all rental units must be inspected prior to the issuance of the license. It is
the policy of the city of Ramsey to require maintenance of all housing in the city through the Housing Maintenance Code,
and to assure that all housing units are safe, sanitary, secure, and free from blight. The licensing of rental units provides a
means for periodic inspections to maintain and improve the quality of housing within our city. For more information on
how to license your rental property please contact Katy Okerstrom at 763-433-9833 or kol(erstrom@ci.ramsey.mn.us.

www.ci.ramsey.mn.us

9
