Ramsey Planning Commission

I live across the street from George & Denise Swanson & have noticed a sign in their
yard indicating that they may be trying to get a variance. I live in Bums Township &
did not receive any kind bf notification.
I spoke to my neighbor who lives next door to the Swanson's & he told me that they are
seeking a variance to be able to gain access to Co Rd 64.
I don't have a problem with them developing their property but I would like to offer a
few things that I ran into when I purchased my property & when I wanted to add a
storage building on my property.
First I have the 5 acres at the intersection of Co Rd 64 & Rabbit St. When I purchased
the property I had to give the County an additional 35' easement to the existing 30' set
back easement from the center of Co Rd 64. I also was not allowed to run my driveway
so that it entered onto Co Rd 64.
I since was interested in building a storage building, and because of the way my house is
setting on my lot, and where my septic is & proposed septic are, and the setbacks from
the county road & the township road it is just about impossible, without having it right on
top of my house. I called Anoka County to see if I could put the building on the back 2.5
Acres of my lot with a driveway that access Co Rd 64 and was told that I could try to get
a variance but it wasn't very likely.
Also in the future if the ordinances were right I probably wouldn't be able to develop my
back 2.5 acres either.
In short I am concerned that what ever is done at the Swanson's is done right and follows
existing ordinances. Also that someone takes a hard look at the how safe it would be to
add another access to Co Rd 64 with the blind spot that the hill poses where the
Swanson's live.
Thank Yon,

Kenneth Dehn Jr.
18130 Rabbit StNW.
Anoka, Mn. 55330

12
