Case #11: <br /> <br />Authorization to Donate Used Macintosh Computer Equipment to Anoka <br />Hennepin ISD #11 <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey currently has 14 functional Mac computers, two Mac laser writer printers, <br />miscellaneous Mac parts and other peripherals related to the Mac computers that have already <br />been declared surplus property. Recently, Mayor Gamec had conversations with Mr. Bill Burke <br />of the Anoka Hennepin ISD #11 regarding the technology centers throughout the district and <br />how any or all of the surplus computer equipment might be used in the district. The district is <br />very interested in all components, including those that are not currently functional. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to authorize <br />the donation of the Mac related computer equipment, software and peripherals to the Anoka <br />Hennepin ISD #11 and to direct the Finance Officer to ensure that all equipment, parts, <br />peripherals and software are transferred to the district and removed from the City of Ramsey's <br />fixed asset listing. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beahen, Beyer and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #12: Discuss Senior Housing Market Study <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman reminded Council of the market analysis for senior rental housing in <br />the Ramsey area they received at their February 24, 1998 meeting. It appears the demand for <br />senior rental housing in Ramsey could fill 46 to 50 units. There was $62,783 from CDBG funds <br />earmarked for a "Senior Housing Project", and Council should discuss how they want to proceed. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to appoint a committee <br />consisting of Mayor Gamec, Councilmember Haas Steffen, City Administrator Norman and <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik to proceed with a plan for senior housing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen, Haas Steffen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #13: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />1) Authorization to Fill Vacant Public Works Maintenance Worker <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman reported that the Public Works Department has an opening for a <br />Maintenance Worker due to the resignation ofDuane Dordahl, who has accepted a position in the <br />private sector. The new hire will work in both the streets and the parks divisions as needed. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to authorize staff to <br />proceed with the process to fill the opening for a Public Works Maintenance Worker position in <br />the Public Works Department. <br /> <br />City Council/March 10, 1998 <br /> Page 22 of 24 <br /> <br /> <br />
