Mr. Kapler responded that the well is producing some sand now so it's a good time to do <br />it - we will be able to use the temporary pump to work the sand out. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to <br />approve Change Order No. 3 for Improvement Project #98~13 in the amount of $2,000. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman and Beahen. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Beyer and Haas Steffen. <br /> <br />7) Order Public Hearing for Improvement Project #98-16 <br /> <br />Mr. Kapler stated that Council held a public hearing for Improvement Project #98-16 <br />which is the paving of Bison Street. However, it was later found that the notifications <br />were not sent to the affected property owners, thus, staff is requesting that Council <br />reschedule the hearing for August 11, 1998. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to <br />schedule the public heating for Improvement Project #98-16, bituminous paving of Bison <br />Street, for 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, August 11, 1998. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman and Beahen. <br />Voting No: None. None. Absent: Councilmembers Beyer and Haas Steffen. <br /> <br />Case #12: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />1) End Probationary Period of Community Development Assistant Scan <br /> Walther <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec announced that Mr. Sean Walther had been the City's Community <br />Development Assistant for six months and is doing an outstanding job. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to <br />adopt Resolution #98-07-166 ending the probationary period for Community <br />Development Assistant Sean Walther and granting him the status of regular, full-time <br />employee, effective July 20, 1998. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beahen and Zimmerman. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Beyer and Haas Steffen. <br /> <br />2) Recommend Appointment of Community Development Director <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to <br />approve the appointment of Cynthia Sherman as Community Development Director, <br />effective on or before September 7, 1998, at an annual salary of $58,000. <br /> <br />City Council/July 28, 1998 <br />Page 15 of 17 <br /> <br /> <br />
