Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that was not <br />proposed. However, at the time the acetylene plant is proposed, the assumption would be that <br />screening would be extended. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer requested a copy of Ramsey's lighting ordnance and a copy of the May, <br />1998 Popular Mechanics article titled 'New Lights for Star Gazers' be sent to Mr. Kirchner in <br />Anoka. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jensen asked how trash is being screened. Ken LeToumeau, Morrison and <br />Walijarvi Architects, indicated trash would be screened by a 7 foot pre-cast concrete wall. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer indicated at other sites, lighting fixtures are slipping through. He <br />requested a lighting plan be submitted with a schedule of lighting fixtures to be used. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Case#2: Public Meeting Announcement and Background Information} Case of <br /> Mississippi National River and Recreation Area <br /> <br />Community Development Assistant Walther explained a public meeting for MNRRA citizen input <br />was scheduled for April 30th. He indicated Hoisington Koegler Group, Inc., would be facilitating <br />the meeting with presentations by representatives of the DNR, National Park Service (NPS) and <br />Metropolitan Council. He stated in 1988 Congress designated the 72 mile corddor fi.om Ramsey <br />to Hastings in order to protect, preserve and enhance the river through the metropolitan area. <br />MNRRA is a part of the N-PS, having no authority over local planning and ordinances. A corddor <br />wide vision is needed and will be addressed during the April 30th meeting on a local level. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jensen inquired if the grant would be affected whether or not the City of Ramsey <br />complied. Community Development Assistant Walther stated the grant would be used to update <br />the critical river ordinance, Tier One. Tier Two is for policies which are voluntary.
