Case #3: Request for a Home Occupation Permit; Case of Renee Juliano <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated Ms. Juliano is proposing to establish a one-chair barber shop <br />in her home. The proposal complies with all criteria for a home occupation permit. She is <br />requesting a 4 day per week operation with the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and <br />Fridays; noon to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesdays; and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. The shop would <br />be closed Mondays, Thursdays, Sundays, Wednesday mornings and Saturday afternoons. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue, seconded by Commissioner Wivoda, to accept Findings of Fact <br />#1 - 11 as presented. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Deemer, Commissioners LaDue, Wivoda and <br />Anderson. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Bawden and Commissioner Jensen. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Wivoda, seconded by Commissioner LaDue, to amend Findings of Fact <br />#12 - 18 in the affirmative. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Deemer, Commissioners Wivoda and LaDue. <br />Voting No: Commissioner Anderson. Absent: Chairperson Bawden and Commissioner Jensen. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Wivoda, seconded by Commissioner LaDue, to recommend that City <br />Council adopt the amended Findings of Fact relating to a Renee Juliano's request for a conditional <br />use permit. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Deemer, Commissioners Wivoda and LaDue. <br />Voting No: Commissioner Anderson. Absent: Chairperson Bawden and Commissioner Jensen. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue, seconded by Commissioner Wivoda, to recommend that City <br />Council approve Renee Juliano's request for a home occupation permit based on the findings of <br />fact. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Commissioner Wivoda inquired regarding signage for the in home business. <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated City Code prohibits signage for in home occupations. <br /> <br />Amendment by Commissioner Wivoda, seconded by Commissioner LaDue, that the home <br />occupation permit item #6 be amended to read: There shall be no business identification signs, <br />other than those that comply with City Code. <br /> <br />Amendment Carried. <br />LaDue. Voting No: <br />Jensen. <br /> <br /> Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Deemer, Commissioners Wivoda and <br />Commissioner Anderson. Absent: Chairperson Bawden and Commissioner <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Deemer, Commissioners LaDue and Wivoda. <br />Voting No: Commissioner Anderson.
