The majority of events will be on
Sunwood Drive. The Happy Days Committee would like to include fireworks as part of the
festival this year. Mr. Gladhill stated the Happy Days Committee has been approached by
Independent Luxury Homes about a possible partnership between Happy Days and the Hope
House Benefit Walk/Benefit Concert that is planned for Sunday, September 16th. The potential
partnership includes sharing advertising for both events, and Happy Days would be included in
the Hope House spot on KARE 11 or another local television station.

Councilmember Elvig inquired about the goal for sponsorship.

Management Intern Gladhill replied no target was set; sponsorship last year was at about
$13,000 and the Committee has been shooting for that amount. They have had some sponsors
drop out and some sponsors step up with more funds.

Councilmember Elvig asked if there will be letters sent out requesting sponsorship and follow up
phone calls.

Management Intern Gladhill replied yes. The Anoka Chamber of Commerce list and the
donation list from previous years are being utilized. The Committee is contacting new
businesses in the area and has been looking at doing additional fundraising.

Councilmember Elvig asked where the fireworks will be located.

Management Intern Gladhill indicated the area behind the pump house has been discussed,
aiming towards the Village Square Park.

Councilmember Elvigpointed out that a request by Diamonds to hold fireworks at this location,
Central Park, and Elmcrest Park was turned down by the City less than two years ago.
Diamonds said the City will essentially shut down the fireworks on the 4th of July and that it
would be on the City's head. Council is on record saying this was not a location to shoot off the
fireworks.

City Council Work Session / May 22, 2007
Page 7 of9
