<br />~ <br /> <br />Community News <br /> <br />Ramsey Lions are <br />Sponsoring <br />55 Alive Courses <br /> <br />Please note the date chan~es for First Time Classes <br />Four Hour Refresher Classes <br />Monday, July 9,2007,5:30 - 9:30 pm <br /> <br /> <br />Free Plant <br />Health Service <br /> <br />The University of Minnesota Extension - Anoka <br />County Master Gardener Program offers Plant Health <br />Clinics for Anol(a County residents during the months of <br />July and August. These FREE clinics are designed to help <br />homeowners identify problems and develop appropriate <br />solutions for their landscaping by using research-based <br />information. Clinics are on Wednesday evenings at the <br />Bunker Hills Activities Center, 550 Bunl(er Lake Blvd. <br />NW, Andover, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on the following dates: <br />July 11, 18, 25; and August 1, 8, 15, 22, 29. (Clinic closed <br />July 4.) A traveling Plant Health Clinic will be held on <br />August 17-19, at the Nowthen Threshing Show, 7415 Old <br />Viking Blvd., Nowthen. <br />Master Gardeners will be available at each clinic <br />to answer questions regarding lawns, trees, flowers, fruits, <br />vegetables and pests. Bring substantial samples of dam- <br />aged plant material, turf, weeds or insects. Insects need to <br />be in a screw-top jar and can be frozen to preserve them. <br />Please limit 3 samples per visit. Please call 763-755-1280 <br />for more information. <br /> <br />Ramsey Women of Today <br /> <br />The Ramsey Women of Today would like to thank <br />all who supported our basket raffle at the Ramsey Lions <br />Community Picnic. Money raised from the basl(ets will <br />be used to benefit the Ramsey Safety Camp. Congrats to <br />the winners of the baskets - Helen Brady, Julie Gunderson, <br />Tom Hoxter, and Martina Wallace. We wish her well in her future educa- <br />tion goals. <br />The Ramsey Women of Today are hosting play <br />dates at parks and beaches in the area on Wednesdays <br />throughout the summer. For <br />more information, please join us at our monthly business <br />meeting on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7: 15 pm at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center - Alexander Ramsey Room <br />or email usatramseywomenoftoday@yahoo.com. <br /> <br />Ramsey Seniors <br /> <br />The Ramsey Seniors meet on the 4th Thursday <br />of each month at Fire Station #1, 15050 Armstrong Blvd. <br />NW. In March our group included 44 members and 5 visi- <br />tors. Now that we've finally figured out how to set up the <br />tables, our pot luck meal is going better. <br />Gary Stritesky talked to us about his experiences <br />on the TV Series Survivor. We really enjoyed having him <br />at our March meeting. In April we had a gentleman from <br />one of our local nurseries come in and help us with ideas <br />for planting flowers and vegetables. <br />The Ramsey Seniors would like to express their <br />thanks to everyone who helps us each month.
