~

Public Notice

Attention: City Water Customers
Odd/Even Day Sprinkling Ban

To reduce peak water us-
age in areas served by the municipal
water system, the city of Ramsey
has implemented an odd/even day
sprinkling ban, pursuant to City Code
4.40.06 subd. 10. The sprinl(ling ban
will be in effect from May 29 until
September 4.
Residents may water their
lawns on odd numbered days if their
address ends in an odd number or on
even numbered days if their address
ends in an even number.
The sprinl(ling restriction
includes a complete waterin~ ban
between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm
since a significant amount of water
is lost due to evaporation during the

hot portions of the day. Homeowners
with automated systems are strongly
encouraged to program their irriga-
tion systems to operate after 10: 00
pm. This minimizes evaporation and
lessens peal( demand on the munici-
pal water system.
The only exception to the
City Code is for new sod or newly
seeded areas. These areas may be
watered every day for two weeks to
establish root growth, but not be-
tween 10:00 am and 8:00 pm.
In addition to the residen-
tial sprinl(ling ban, the City is in the
process of implementing an irrigation
policy that is specific to townhomes,
multifamily residential and com-

National Night Out (NNO)
is Tuesday, August 7

On the evening
of Tuesday, August 7
from approximately 6:00
- 9:00 pm the entire na-
tion will be celebrating
National Night Out. In
Ramsey, police officers,
fire fighters and city
officials will be out visiting local
neighborhood parties. It was the
first year with the new, much larger
shelter. The day started with great
weather and lots of fun, but was cut
short by afternoon rain showers.
We discovered a lot of people can
fit under the shelter! Our thanks to
the many groups and volunteers that
helped with this year's picnic. Hope
to see you there next year.

8

www.ci.ramsey.mn.us
