Case #12: Arboretum at Mississippi West Regional Park <br /> <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen presented some ideas for an arboretum at the Mississippi West <br />Regional Park and stated she would like Ramsey's Council to support these ideas. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to adopt Resolution <br />#97-04-083 requesting Anoka County Parks Department prepare a feasibility study for the <br />inclusion of an arboretum and conservatory within the development of the Mississippi West <br />Regional Park. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen, Haas Steffen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #13: Report from Finance Committee <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Approve 1997 Capital Improvements to River's Bend Park and Advertise for Bids <br />for the Construction of Park Shelters for Emerald Pond Park and River's Bend <br />Park <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart stated that the Finance Committee received the list of improvements <br />planned for River's Bend Park and requested authorization of same. One of the improvements is <br />a shelter which is similar to the one previously approved for Emerald Pond Park. Staff asked <br />authorization to request bids for both shelters at the same time which should realize some <br />savings. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to approve <br />River's Bend Park Capital Improvements and authorize staff to advertise for bids for completion <br />of the shelters for Emerald Pond and River's Bend Parks. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beahen, Beyer and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />2) Approve Police Department Budget Amendments <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart reported that the Finance Committee had received a list of amendments to <br />the Police budget. The requests increase and/or decrease areas of the budget, but do not change <br />the overall budget amount. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt <br />Resolution #97-04-084 approving budget amendments for the Ramsey Police Department. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beyer, Beahen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />City Council/April 22, 1997 <br /> Page 15 of 18 <br /> <br /> <br />
