Case//6: <br /> <br />Proposed Grant from Minnesota Investment Fund for the Northstar Die <br />Casting Facility <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that the City of Ramsey has been requested by Northstar Die <br />Casting to submit a grant application to the Minnesota Investment Fund for $75,000 to assist the <br />company in the purchase of new equipment. This grant from the Department of Trade and <br />Economic Development (DTED) is based upon the retention of jobs and creation of new jobs in <br />the facility, by the company. The program is funded by DTED but requires that the City <br />administer the funds use and report on the creation of the required jobs. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec closed the regular portion of the City Council meeting at 9:30 in order to conduct <br />the public hearing. <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to close the <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beahen and Zimmerman. Voting <br />No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Beyer and Haas Steffen. <br /> <br />The public hearing closed at 9:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular portion of the City Council meeting back to order at 9:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to adopt <br />Resolution #97-07-171 authorizing the submittal and execution of the grant application for the <br />Northstar Die Casting project. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beahen and Zimmerman. Voting <br />No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Beyer and Haas Steffen. <br /> <br />Case#7: Adopt Ordinance to Change Terms of Office for City Boards and <br /> Commissions and to Establish Term Limits on Commission Service <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith reported that this is the second reading of an <br />ordinance that was introduced at the June 10 Council meeting. The ordinance amends Chapter <br />2.03.02 of the City Code to specify four-year terms of office, and to add Subdivision 6 <br />establishing term limits. The ordinance states that individuals serving on City Boards and <br />Commissions shall be limited to four consecutive two-year terms of service on a commission; <br /> <br />City Council/July 8, 1997 <br />Page 12 of 15 <br /> <br /> <br />
