Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beyer, Haas Steffen, Beahen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #9: Amendment to Pawnbrokers Licensing Section of the City Code <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that the legislature has amended the statute regulating <br />pawnbrokers and licensing of pawnbrokers. Each municipality needs to be at least as restrictive <br />as the State Statute. The City needs to amend its ordinance by requiring that pawnbrokers <br />maintain the property pledged for at least 60 days as opposed to the City's current 30-day <br />requirement. Also, pawnbrokers are now required to print, on each pawn ticket, a statement with <br />regard to the pledgor's rights of redemption, etc., with regard to the pledged property. He <br />presented an ordinance which addressed these two requirements. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to introduce the <br />ordinance amending the City's pawnbroker's section of the City Code. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beahen, Beyer, Haas Steffen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #10: <br /> <br />Award Contract for Engineering Services for the Development of Business <br />Park 95 Sixth Addition (Improvement Project #97-23) <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that at the July 22, 1997 meeting, Council authorized the <br />solicitation of bids from three engineering firms which have been used on similar projects in the <br />recent past. Following review of the bids, staff recommends awarding it to Hakanson Anderson <br />due to their bid for basic engineering services being the lowest. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt <br />Resolution #97-08-196 awarding contract for engineering services for hnprovement project #97- <br />23 (Development of Business Park 95 Sixth Addition) to Hakanson Anderson <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beyer, Beahen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #11: Receive Bid and Award Contract for Improvement Project #96-24 (SCADA) <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski reminded Council that they authorized solicitation of bids for <br />Improvement Project #96-24 Water Utility Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system <br />(SCADA). This project entails replacing our water system controls with a new telemetry system <br />that will allow the transmission of information between the water tower, the two well houses, <br />public works, and the municipal building. Combined with the monitoring and telemetry <br />equipment will be a computer interface, which will allow the recording of system information <br />and the generation of reports.
