The Road and Bridge
Committee directed staff to report back to them on the feasibility of a temporary traffic island
designed to slow traffic.

2) Discussion of Northfork Homeowners Association Letter Concerning Traffic Issues

Mr. Jankowski summarized some concerns in a letter from the Northfork Homeowners
Association. The Road and Bridge Committee recommended the following: That Council
authorize posting additional 30 mile per hour speed limit signs midway on Andrie Street, that
staff be directed to research trail signage standards and that the City Engineer correspond with
the Northfork Homeowners Association and give them the report from the Traffic Review
Committee (the policy adopted and why the City will not post stop signs [because it does not
meet any warrants]), and with regard to park/playground warning signs at 160th Lane -
encourage the Homeowners Association to do what they said they would do as this is a private
park and the City should not have to post any private parks.

Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Haas Steffen to adopt the
recommendations of the Road and Bridge Committee.

Motion carried.
