surprised at how well attended the event was in comparison to other open houses they
had facilitated. There were a lot of people with good questions. Approximately 30
people signed in with various comments and responses. The field work has begun.
Approximately 65 percent of semi natural areas were completed. They were going to be
back out there throughout June so things are moving along. There are a few responses
still trickling in.

Chairperson McDilda commended Environmental Coordinator Anderson on the success
of the project.

OLD BUSINESS

Board Member Freeburg asked if there were any comments on Paul Anton's presentation.

Chairperson McDilda reported that it was excellent. He stated it is difficult to argue the
signs of economics as it pertains to preservation, and felt it was eye opening.

Board Member Freeburg asked Board Member Max for clarification about the
spreadsheet on the tree characteristics. He asked if there was a category for litter
generated by trees, such as with messy cottonwoods.

Board Member Max responded that a lot of people ask about that but everybody has their
own idea of what constitutes tree litter. He stated the answer is no, because it was too
difficult to classify.

NEW BUSINESS

July Meeting Date (July 2)

Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that Monday, July 2nd is the date of the next
EPB meeting. He asked if there was any interest in rescheduling the meeting due to the
July 4th holiday. He recommended looking at rescheduling if nobody from Bolton &
Menk, Inc. can attend a meeting on July 2nd.

Board Member Olds concurred with leaving the meeting date as July 2nd unless Bolton &
Menk, Inc. can't make it.

Board Member Max stated that July 2nd was as good as any date since there will always
be someone who can't make it because of the holiday.

Chairperson McDilda suggested leaving the date as is since it appears there may be a
quorum.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson asked for consensus if July 2nd doesn't work for
Bolton & Menk, Inc., would an alternate date of July 9th work for everybody.

Consensus of the Board is that July 9th as an alternative date will work.

Environmental Policy Board/June 4, 2007
Page 5 of7
