<br />Commissioner Cleveland stated she would like to encourage development in the town center, but <br />there are a lot of residents in this area that could use a place where they could walk to for <br />shopping. <br /> <br />Commissioner Van Scoy stated he would prefer to see it E-1 but he did not see a lot of interest in <br />it being developed that way. He noted some retail would be nice in that area. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy, to recommend that City <br />Council adopt a resolution to approve the comprehensive plan amendment for Lot 1, Block 1, <br />Gateway North Industrial Park No.3, contingent upon site plan approval for the southern lot; and <br />authorize staff to submit the Comprehensive Plan Amendment to Metropolitan Council. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. V oting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Van Scoy, Cleveland, Hunt, <br />and Trites Rolle. Voting No: Brauer. Absent: Commissioner Levine. <br /> <br />Case #7: <br /> <br />Public Hearing - Request for Zoning Amendment from E-l Employment to <br />B-1 Business for 14100 Sunfish Lake Boulevard; Case of Sunfish <br />Development, LLC <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt closed the regular portion of the Planning Commission meeting at 10:29 p.m. <br />,in order to call the public hearing to order. <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the public hearing to order at 10:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Associate Planner DaInes stated the City has received an application to rezone 14100 Sunfish <br />Lake Boulevard (existing Healthquest site) from E-1 Employment to B-1 Business. In <br />conjunction with the rezoning, a comprehensive plan amendment, site plan for the southern <br />portion of the lot (to be subdivided), and minor plat are being processed. A rezoning to B-1 <br />Business is required for this property to subdivide as proposed. The applicant intends to develop <br />two lots and construct a multi-tenant retail facility on the southernmost lot. The applicant will <br />sell or develop the second lot at a later date. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />Mr. Stachowski indicated he had the same concerns as the last case. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Trites Rolle, to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Trites Rolle, Brauer, Cleveland, <br />Hunt, and Van Scoy. Voting No: None.
