<br />Subd. 3. Any sign ~installed or placed on any parcel prior to receipt of a permit, <br />the specified permit fee shall be doubled. However, the payment of the doubled fee shall not <br />relieve. any person of any other requirement or penalties prescribed in this Section. <br /> <br />9.12.17 <br /> <br />Administration <br /> <br />Subdivision 1. The Zoning Administrator shall process applications for permits. <br />The Building Official is empowered, upon presentation of proper credentials, to enter or inspect <br />any building, structure, or parcel in the City for the purpose of inspection of a sign and its <br />structural and electrical connections to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and <br />ordinances. <br /> <br />9.12.18 <br /> <br />Violations <br /> <br />Subdivision 1. When, in the opinion of the Zoning Administrator, a violation of <br />the Code exists, the Zoning Administrator shall issue a written order to either the owner of the <br />sign, or the owner of the property, or tenant leasing the property, on which the sign is placed. <br />The order shall ~pecify those sections of the Code involved, describe the violation and shall <br />direct that the violation be corrected within five (5) days from the date of the order, unless <br />otherwise specified by the Zoning Administrator. <br /> <br />Subd. 2. If the Zoning Administrator or Building Official finds that a sign is abandoned or is <br />structurally, or electrically defective, or in any way endangers the public, the Zoning <br />Administrator or Building Official shall issue a written order to the owner of the sign and <br />occupant of the premises stating the nature of the violation and requiring repair or removal of the <br />sign within sixty (60) days~ofthe date of the order. <br /> <br />9.12.19 <br /> <br />Enforcement <br /> <br />Subdivision 1. Enforcement of the sign ordinance shall be conducted by <br />the Zoning Administrator and/or their assigns. Signs not complying with the sign <br />ordinance, as witnessed and documented by the Zoning Administrator, will be <br />subject to the below procedure. <br /> <br />Subdivision 2. When a violation of Section 9.12.03 Subdivision I <br />(Location) is witnessed by the Zoning Administrator or other law enforcement <br />official, the City reserves the right to remove the sign from the public right-of- <br />way immediately, without notice. The sign will subsequently be discarded. <br /> <br />Subdivision 3. When a violation of any other provision of this ordinance <br />has been witnessed, the following actions will be taken by the City: <br /> <br />a. Written Notice. Written notice will be made that the property owner is in <br />violation of the sign ordinance, and 5 business days will be given for <br />corrective action. <br /> <br />146 <br />
