_ Y
ADOPT RESOLUTION #07- 08 -XXX ABATING 2006 SPECIAL ASSESSMENT
FOR PROPERTY ID #17- 32 -25 -12 -0002
By: Diana Lund, Finance Officer
Background:
Annually the City assesses 50% of seal coating costs to affected residents. The City
mails letters to these benefited property owners from the list they obtain using the Anoka
County GIS system. It was not discovered that PIN #17- 32 -25 -12 -0002 should not have
been assessed until after the assessment was certified to the homeowner's property taxes.
This property is unique in that it has two property id's. The two id's are due to the fact
that the major portion of the property lies within the Elk River school district with a small
share within the Anoka- Hennepin school district.
As this property has only one lot and one block it should have been assigned only one
assessment, but was assigned two.
To remove an assessment that has been certified to the County, the County needs to abate
the taxes. To do so, the County requires a resolution from the City stating that the taxes
are to be abated.
Funding Source:
No funding required.
Council Action:
Adopt Resolution #07- 08 -XXX abating the special assessment charge in the amount of
$23 8.23 on PID # 17- 32 -25 -12 -0002.
Consent: 8 -14 -07
