<br />PCCASE# 3 <br /> <br />CONSIDER ENDING THE PROBATIONARY PERIOD <br />FORA PATROL SERGEANT <br /> <br />Givonna Reed Kone, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />On February 2,2007, Sheldon Erdman was promoted to Patrol Sergeant. Mr. Erdman <br />has successfully completed the required six-month probationary period and the Police <br />Chief recommends retaining Mr. Erdman as a Patrol Sergeant. <br /> <br />Funding Source <br /> <br />Members of the City Council will recall that Sergeant Erdman was promoted as a result <br />of the retirement of former Sergeant Robert Kuhn. As this was a replacement position, <br />there were no funding implications when Mr. Erdman was promoted and there are no <br />funding implications associated with ending his probationary period. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br /> <br />Based on satisfactory completion of the six-month probationary period, staff recommends <br />that Sheldon Erdman be retained as a Patrol Sergeant. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Make a motion recommending that the City Council adopt a resolution ending the <br />probationary period for Sheldon Erdman and granting status as a full-time regular Patrol <br />Sergeant. <br /> <br />pc: 08-28-07 <br /> <br />G :\Adm inistration\HumanResourccs\Performance Evaluations\Ending Probation\Erdman 8-28-07 .doc <br /> <br />-255- <br /> <br />
