~ -- <br />r ~ _ - .. ~ - <br />April 29, 2004 <br />" ~ 1VIElVIORANDUM OF.UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN <br />THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, <br />THE CITY OF.RAMSEY, MINNESOTA, <br />AND ' . . <br />ANOKA COUNTY,IVIINNESOTA. ~ ~ - <br />(Sunfish Lake Boulevard) <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation ("State") is developing a project to replace <br />the existing signal system at the intersection of Trunk Highway i0 {"TH 10") and Sunfish Lake <br />Boulevard and County State Aid Highway 57 in the City of Ramsey: ("City"); and, <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County ("County") has applied for Railroad Safety Crossing Improvement Funds <br />- for the improvement of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe ("BNSF") Railroad crossing Located <br />~-immediately north of TH 10 on Sunfish Lake Boulevard and has been successful in securing funds for <br />- the improvement of that crossing for Federal Fiscal Year 2008;-and, " <br />WHEREAS, the City,has approved development plans for land located north of TH 10 that would <br />significantly increase traffc at.the intersection of TH 10 and Sunfish.Lake Boulevard;, and <br />WHEREAS, the increased traffic at the intersection will require significant geometric improvements; <br />and, " <br />WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of.all parties involved-that the_improvement of the signal system . <br />be done in conjunction with the improvement bf the BNSF Railroad crossing; Sunfish Lake Boulevard, <br />TH 10 and that portion of Sunfish Lake_Boulevard south of TH 10. - <br />" NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto state as follows: <br />The County will be the design agency for the signal and Sunfish Lake Boulevard mprovements~from <br />1,000 feet north of the BNSF Railroad tracks to a point approximately 20Q feet south~of the south <br />right-of--way line of TH 10: " <br />The design will include a new signal system at the intersection of TH l0.and Sunfish Lake Boulevard <br />which will serve. four legs of the intersection. ~ - - ~ ~ _ <br />' The State will postpone investing in the signal project currently programmed at this intersection until <br />the surrimer of 2006 (FY 2006). - <br />. . ... . <br />The.
