Councilmember Jeffrey stated that he feels the City Council needs. to think about whether it <br />should push for a comprehensive plan amendment on this property. <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that the City Council would need to adopt Findings of Fact if they <br />decide to deny this request. <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to adopt Resolution #07- <br />10-270 adopting Findings of Fact #0810, as amended, to deny the request for a Comprehensive <br />Plan Amendment to Metropolitan Council for the Case of Dan ~ lurph~ and Tim Holm. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers LI~iR, Jeffrey, Dehen, Look, <br />Olson, and Strommen. Voting No: None: <br />Coutlcilmember Elvig reiterated that he is against commercial- development on this property to <br />protect the residents in the area that have voiced their opposition. He stated that he supports <br />beginning the process of a comprehensive plan amendment to allow .low density housing and <br />supports the C`iiy Council initiatin the public hearingprocess to make that happen. <br />Councilmember Lool~ stated that he would like the record to show that if this lot sells to a <br />commercial entity tomoiz~ow that the residents stated at tonight's meeting that they are in favor of <br />that type of development. <br />Councilmember Jeffrey stated that he agreed with Councilmember Elvig that the City Council <br />should begin the process for a comprehensive plan amendment.
