Councilmember Jeffrey stated that he feels the City Council needs. to think about whether it should push for a comprehensive plan amendment on this property. City Attorney Goodrich stated that the City Council would need to adopt Findings of Fact if they decide to deny this request. Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to adopt Resolution #07- 10-270 adopting Findings of Fact #0810, as amended, to deny the request for a Comprehensive Plan Amendment to Metropolitan Council for the Case of Dan ~ lurph~ and Tim Holm. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers LI~iR, Jeffrey, Dehen, Look, Olson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. Case #6: Request to Rezone Property from B-2 >iusincss to Planzicd Uuit development (PUD); Case of Dan Murphy and Tim Flulm Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Councilmeniber I,oi~lc, to adopt Resolution #07- 10-271 adopting Findings ofFact~#0811, as ~i»enazd. to deny the request to rezone the subject property from B-2 Business to Planned Unit Dei~elopment (PUD). Voting No: None: Coutlcilmember Elvig reiterated that he is against commercial- development on this property to protect the residents in the area that have voiced their opposition. He stated that he supports beginning the process of a comprehensive plan amendment to allow .low density housing and supports the C`iiy Council initiatin the public hearingprocess to make that happen. Councilmember Lool~ stated that he would like the record to show that if this lot sells to a commercial entity tomoiz~ow that the residents stated at tonight's meeting that they are in favor of that type of development. Councilmember Jeffrey stated that he agreed with Councilmember Elvig that the City Council should begin the process for a comprehensive plan amendment.
