Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seConded by Councilmember 'Beyer to approve the <br />application and introduce an ordinance to rezone Lots 6 and 7, Block 1, Golden Eagle Estates, to <br />R-1 Rural Residential contingent upon development with accesses onto Willemite Street NW. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beyer, Beahen and <br />Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #3: Ordinance to Sell Excess Land; Sunwood Drive <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that at the last Council meeting, an ordinance was introduced <br />to sell land that is a remnant created by the Sunwood Drive right-of-way. The sale was advertised <br />as a sealed bid process. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt Ordinance <br />#96-08 authorizing sale of excess property. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Peterson, Beyer, Beahen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to award the bid to <br />Good Value Homes in the amount of $12,500. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Peterson, Beahen, Beyer and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />Award Contract for Improvement Project #96-16 (Sanitary Sewer, <br />Watermain, Storm Sewer, and Street Improvements for Fox Knoll <br />2nd Addition <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski explained that bids were opened for Improvement Project #96-16 which <br />is sanitary sewer, watermain, storm sewer, and street improvements for Fox Knoll 2nd Addition. <br />Sixteen bids were received, with the lowest bidder being Kadlec Excavating of Mora. Staff is <br />recommending the bid be awarded to Kadlec but that the project be assigned a full-time inspector. <br />He noted that John Bertelson of Oliver & Associates is present. <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson inquired how much additional cost would be incurred as a result of extra <br />supervising. <br /> <br />Mr. Bertelson responded that they are paid directly by the developers - there would be no <br />additional cost to the City. He explained that it was suggested they have additional inspections <br />because they are somewhat inexperienced. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt <br />Resolution g96-05-118 receiving bids and awarding contract for Improvement Project #96-16 <br />(Sanitary sewer, watermain, storm sewer, and street improvements for Fox Knoll 2nd Addition) to <br />Kadlec Excavating in the amount of $364,988.60. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beyer, Beahen and <br />Peterson.
