Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to introduce the
ordinance amending Chapter 6 of the City Code; Other Prohibited Parking.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Peterson, Beyer, Beahen and
Zimmerman. Voting No: None.

Case #6: Property Acquisition - Sunwood Drive

City Attorney Goodrich stated that this property is approximately one and one-half acres east of
Sunwood Drive and five-tenths of an acre west of Sunwood Drive. This would be the property
from Sunfish L~e to Kurak's which was acquired earlier. The proposed acquisition is just the
highway right-of-way 80 feet to the distance of this property. This does not include the area
adjacent to the lake. Negotiations have led to $40,000 for the two acres. We would also need to
pay for a survey after acquisition showing the exact location of the street through this property and
where his buildings are. There also happens to be an old road the City acquired in 1956. We
should vacate that. This may have to be in conjunction with Anoka County. We would prorate the
tax in 1996. He stressed the importance of getting this all taken care of now because of pending
construction.

Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to authorize the
purchase agreement on the property acquisition relating to Sunwood Drive.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beyer, Beahen and
Peterson. Voting No: None.

Case ~'/: Award Contract for Improvement Project #95-21 Sunwood Drive
West

City Engineer Jankowski stated that Improvement Project #95-21 involves the construction of 0.6
miles of Sunwood Drive from C.R. #116 to C.R. #56. The project also includes watermaln and
sanitary sewer to provide service to both AEC Energy Park and the Pondview subdivision. Bids
were opened on May 12, 1996, and the lowest bidder was S.R. Weidema in an amount of
$804,020.62.

Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to adopt
Resolution #96-05-119 receiving bids and awarding contract for Improvement Project #95-21
(Sunwood Drive West) to S.R. Weidema, Inc. in the amount of $804,020.62.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Peterson, Zimmerman, Beahen and
Beyer. Voting No: None.

Case #8: Award Contract for Upgrading of Well No. 1 Improvement Project
#96-19

City Engineer Jankowski stated that Council had authorized the expenditure of $40,000 to perform
work which would result in increasing the pumping capacity of Well No. 1 from 550 gpm to 900
gpm. Two sealed bids were received on this project, with E.H. Renner being the lower.

Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to adopt
Resolution ff96-05-120 receiving bids and awarding contract for Improvement project #96-19
(Upgrade of Well No. 1) to E.H.
