Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to introduce the <br />ordinance amending Chapter 6 of the City Code; Other Prohibited Parking. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Peterson, Beyer, Beahen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #6: Property Acquisition - Sunwood Drive <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that this property is approximately one and one-half acres east of <br />Sunwood Drive and five-tenths of an acre west of Sunwood Drive. This would be the property <br />from Sunfish L~e to Kurak's which was acquired earlier. The proposed acquisition is just the <br />highway right-of-way 80 feet to the distance of this property. This does not include the area <br />adjacent to the lake. Negotiations have led to $40,000 for the two acres. We would also need to <br />pay for a survey after acquisition showing the exact location of the street through this property and <br />where his buildings are. There also happens to be an old road the City acquired in 1956. We <br />should vacate that. This may have to be in conjunction with Anoka County. We would prorate the <br />tax in 1996. He stressed the importance of getting this all taken care of now because of pending <br />construction. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to authorize the <br />purchase agreement on the property acquisition relating to Sunwood Drive. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case ~'/: Award Contract for Improvement Project #95-21 Sunwood Drive <br /> West <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that Improvement Project #95-21 involves the construction of 0.6 <br />miles of Sunwood Drive from C.R. #116 to C.R. #56. The project also includes watermaln and <br />sanitary sewer to provide service to both AEC Energy Park and the Pondview subdivision. Bids <br />were opened on May 12, 1996, and the lowest bidder was S.R. Weidema in an amount of <br />$804,020.62. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to adopt <br />Resolution #96-05-119 receiving bids and awarding contract for Improvement Project #95-21 <br />(Sunwood Drive West) to S.R. Weidema, Inc. in the amount of $804,020.62. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Peterson, Zimmerman, Beahen and <br />Beyer. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #8: Award Contract for Upgrading of Well No. 1 Improvement Project <br /> #96-19 <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that Council had authorized the expenditure of $40,000 to perform <br />work which would result in increasing the pumping capacity of Well No. 1 from 550 gpm to 900 <br />gpm. Two sealed bids were received on this project, with E.H. Renner being the lower. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to adopt <br />Resolution ff96-05-120 receiving bids and awarding contract for Improvement project #96-19 <br />(Upgrade of Well No. 1) to E.H.
